Plenty of fun things to do this summer even on a tight budget

The main event will be running around the happiest place on earth for three days in Disneyland and California Adventure. So gas, food, and tickets to Disneyland will be all that I have to scrounge up money for which shouldn't be too bad.
I'm a fan of roller coasters and amusement parks so I was thinking "Why not get a carload of friends together and head down to Six Flags Marine World?"
There are always group deals and sometimes ticket discounts at Taco Bell or other fast food restaurants that you can pick up. Plus you can all split the cost of gas like five ways.
Spending the day in the city can be a total blast and memorable adventure. I love going to San Francisco and just walking around all day taking in all the sights. And it's usually a really cool climate so you can take a break from the Central Valley heat for awhile.
You can always go catch a baseball game in San Francisco too because the Giants have a great stadium right by the water and the team's not half bad either.
The weekend of June 28 there's the annual Pride parade with millions of festivities going on.
My experience as a volunteer was really fun and I was able to create and hand out gift bags for the VIP party. Be prepared for ass-less chaps, men clad in leather, bright feather boas, and drag queens with elaborate make-up.
There are cheap ferries to Alcatraz, Angel Island or boat trips around the bay and don't forget about the Pier, Chinatown, Little Italy and all the rolling hills.
Want to get out of the country? Find a cruise line to take you away to new sights and exotic places, you can go online and search for cheap deals and get out of town for a few days and experience something different for a change.
Or plan a trip to Europe and backpack through Italy and France by staying in cheap hostels and come home when you've run out of money.
There is always Mexico for a relatively cheap good time if you're looking for a change of scenery. Or even up north to Canada to check out the beautiful pristine nature of the region up there, eh?
