People over-rely on tube

Come on, who really cares about what happened on Gray's Anatomy this week? Why should I care if House found the miracle cure to an unsolvable diagnosis?
Was the writers strike really that important? Will my life really stop if I don't get to see another episode of "Lost" or the thrilling conclusion to the newest development in "Heroes"?
The answer is no.
Modern television has unfortunately ruined the way this society has developed and the way we interact with one another. We have become socially dependant on the characters played by actors the media now idolizes.
We focus on our "American Idols" rather than our American ideologies.
What happened to hard work and education?
Has it been replaced by vegg-ing out on the couch and internet chat boards? When is the last time you picked up a good book? When is the last time you did something enjoyable without the use of a monitor?
Frankly, I am surprised that you are even reading this newspaper.
Unfortunately, what I say here won't matter later tonight. You and several other thousand people will be too busy tuning in to catch the latest sitcom created gossip.
Enjoy eating it up folks.
Next time pop in a classic film? Read some Hemingway perhaps? God forbid you go to a museum.
It's fine though. The rest of us, the ones that did get off the couch, will go in your place. The less boob-tubers out there the more real-life experiences we'll get to have.
I think I'll watch a nice sunset, witness the wilds of the frozen tundra or maybe just take a nice hike while you all watch the Griffins. Sounds like a plan to me.
