Going back to gameplay mechanics; the control is smooth without a shadow of a doubt. Loading times are pretty much nonexistant when exploring.

At times, one may get a bit confused but it's quite easy to pick up and in little to no time you'll be jacking cars and taking names in game.

Driving has taken a major overhaul and is no longer governed by arcade physics. Taking control of the cars is now more like one is playing a high-end driving simulation, since the size and whatever subsequent damage determines how difficult it is to get around.

Though if you don't feel like driving around or doing the long and tedious act of running, you can take a train to get around the city or pay out of pocket in order to take a cab. Also there's now a new system rightfully dubbed, the "Friend" system, where as you continue to play you will meet different characters and depending on how well you treat them, special segments of gameplay are unlocked such as having a taxi come and pick you up at no cost at all to having a discount arms dealer at your beck and call.

Romantic subplots have made a return from GTA: San Andreas, only this time the developers at Rockstar have made sure that there are no 'Hot Coffee' codes lying within the coding that are liable to land the company in hot water.

And finally to what has been noted as being the capstone of the Grand Theft Auto series (short of the mass amounts of criminal acts one can play out); the music.

Sadly this game doesn't allow the player to administer their own custom soundtracks to be accessed like the Xbox's version of Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City, but the in game music is great. From hardcore rock and roll to reggae, there's something for everyone's musical tastes. And if you're not into the music you can just switch over to the game's talk radio station and have a good laugh listening to characters rant and rave about the destruction of American morality due to transgender Americans. Yet then catch onto the contradictions of the hosts and their guests.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is insanely good. The game can now be picked up from the entertainment store of your choosing in the regular release version and the special edition. The game itself is rated M for mature so yeah no kiddies going crazy playing this game without any supervision.
