However, Saturday afternoon at Seawolf Diamond in Rohnert Park, the Warriors took a lashing from Sonoma State, and were swept away in a doubleheader by scores of 11-3 and 7-2.
Senior catcher Konrad Thieme had a monster day for the Seawolves, mashing two home runs to give him 13 on the season.
Josh Lewis had first start of the season for the Warriors, but couldn't withstand the Sonoma offensive onslaught. Junior starter Eric Federico had a stellar performance, but the bullpen couldn't hold up his one-run performance as senior Jeff Harter gave up six.
On Sunday, April 27 the Warriors hosted the final home games of the season against Sonoma State, and won 11-4 and 3-0.
In game one, freshman starter Andrew Stueve turned in a solid performance for the Warriors, going 5.2 innings and allowing only three runs; including a two-run moonshot from Thieme, his third of the series and 14 of the season.
Junior left fielder Kyle Loretelli roped his team leading 10th home run of the season over the right field wall and junior infielder Jake Oketani notched his second home run at the NCAA level - a shot over the right-center field wall.
Also, Loretelli's double in the first inning gave him the single season record for CSU Stanislaus baseball with 22.
Senior Jeff Bellotti also had a big game, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored, including a sacrifice fly to the warning track in left field.
In game two, the story was senior ace Marquis Fleming on the mound - who dominated the Seawolves in a complete game shutout; his seventh complete game and fifth shutout of his senior season.
Fleming scattered four hits over seven innings, while striking out ten: increasing his season total to 102. He also picked up his tenth win of the season, improving his record to 10-3.
Junior outfielder Jake Thelen had the big hit for the Warriors, with a two-run line drive home run to right-center field to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning.
