Soulmate wanted: Please apply here

Many people believe in soul mates, that each person has his or her other half waiting out there for them to find.
But is it really true that each person has only one soul mate out there? And if so, if you find the person you're meant to be with and you have a fight, is that it for your soul mate or was that person not your soul mate at all?
I believe every person has a soul mate. Finding that person you want to spend the rest of your life with is worth waiting for. Your soul mate should be your opposite, balancing you out and making you whole.
For instance, I know a couple who have been together for 25 years. One is a dominant person who doesn't let anything get in her way. Her husband is a patient man who likes to take his time. They are perfect for one another because he calms her down whenever she is too fanatical.
Another couple, who have only been together for a year and a few months, also think they are soul mates. They met in college and they love each other very much, but they usually fight almost every month and then make up.
They plan to move in together, but I don't believe they are soul mates. They do not complement each other; they are like apples and bananas, alike in many ways but, still very different.
I thought I had found my soul mate, but it was just lust. Lust is what makes us think that we found our soul mate. We get blinded with lust into thinking that the person we are with is our other half. Once we pass lust, we can see clearer that the one for us is still out there, waiting to find their other half.
