The Associated Students Incorporated Senate application deadline has been moved to next Monday, April 14 by 5 p.m.
Applications can be picked up in and turned into the ASI Office upstairs in the University Student Union.
All positions became available for any California State University, Stanislaus student to apply for in the beginning of March. Still eight of the 12 positions are completely vacant. Positions that have already received applications from students are now closed and only the completely vacant positions remain open for applications.
The open positions are senator of College of Arts, senator of diversity, senator of Environmental College, senator of residential life, senator of College of Education, senator of College of graduates, senator of College of Undergraduates, senator of College of natural Sciences and senator of Stockton. The senator of Stockton position is only open to CSU Stanislaus students taking at least six units at the Stockton campus.
Due to the high number of senate seats to be filled the application deadline was moved to the latest possible date before the open forum for all candidates. The open forum will be held Wednesday April 16 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Quad. The open forum is where students can ask questions and candidates can address the crowd along with debate their opposition.
"I think students should get involved because they get to represent all CSU Stan students and it's a great way to get your voice heard," said Caesar Rumayor ASI Program Coordinator.
ASI Senate voter guides should be available to all CSU Stanislaus students by April 17 or 18 according to Rumayor. The voting polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 23 and 24 in the Main Dinning Hall. Warrior Squad will be giving away free sundaes to encourage students to vote between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wed., April 23 in front of the Main Dining Hall.
