12th annual event features workshops for students entering teaching profession

Transition From Student to Teacher Conference

The 12th annual Transition from Student to Teacher Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the California State University, Stanislaus Event Center.
A registration fee of $20 per person covers a continental breakfast, lunch, flash drive, canvas bag, a first-year teacher's (science) classroom survival kit and all conference materials.
Among the workshop topics are District Expectations, Confidentiality and Reportable Issues, Managing Meaningful Classrooms, First-year Survival Strategies, Resume Construction and Interviewing Techniques, and Credentialing Assessments and Preparation Options.

The conference is presented by Support Services, Teacher Recruitment and Retention, Student California Teachers Association, and the Math and Science Teacher Initiative.
